Be forwarned...I RAMBLE and thus talk A LOT sometimes
My mom's birthday is May 30th so as a child she HATED her birthday because every year people were crying and going to cemeteries for Memorial Day and kinda forgot about her. Sad I know. After I had been sharing with her some of my ghost hunt experiences she started taking an intrest, we had done for a fun a haunted tour in Vegas and while the tour was uneventful afterwards visiting some of the places turned out to be incredibly eventful and I wish my hard hadn't died so I could share those pictures.
A couple years ago while she was in Washington DC for her birthday she did a Haunted DC tour. (I am totally jealous). The same year I think in the fall we did a "ghost hunting" class that was REALLY seriously uneventful for me. I allready knew what was going on and was just hoping to be able to "legally" visit some places that maybe I hadn't been. The teachers were so self involved and closed minded to anything outside of their way of thinking that I found it kinda miserable, and avoided "organized" groups.
At some point last year my friend messaged me about a public ghost tour, investigation but it was so last minute that I couldn't even give it a try. This organization Wasatch Paranormal will occasionally do public haunts for a small fee usually to help raise money for that location, a fundraiser event if you will. I wish they posted more picutres to their website because I am such a VISUAL person but I kept forgetting to check back until the same friend messaged me again about a tour. Hey that's my mom's birthday and I just sold a bunch of stuff on Etsy so what a great present. The woman has finally come full circle, as a child she hated going to graveyards for her birthday and now she loves "looking for dead people" for her birthday.
Well I will see how this event goes was my thought. Our group grew a little with the addition of a family friend of my mom and myself. My kids think he is an uncle, and he really acts like it so it's all good. We all decided that since the location was 1 1/2 hours away that carpooling was the best idea. Got there an hour early and wandered around the city then went back to the Baron Woolen Mill in Brigham City. I was reasonably impressed enough with the group as they were setting up because things seemed to be thought out and organized and watching interactions with the people as they showed up for the haunt, they were super friendly, receptive to questions, thoughts, theories etc.
We should have known that we would be in for a night of laughs when we pulled up and our friend Richard stated "oh that's a spooky bathtub" which was shortly preceeded by mom suggesting I take this picture...in this manner no less. Everything someone devolved most of the night into some kind of sophmoric joke, usually centered around my mom and her quick wit. She is the queen of one liners.
Old buildings are really neat and this one has a lot of history with, as well as the whole old thing going on for it. I won't give you a Super History lesson today though. Im too tired actually to get into it. The short and sweet version is it was a textiles mill. It has actually burnt down before, was rebuilt, and then additions made and added onto the building. At one time it was I think either entirely run off steam or mostly...The boiler was weird and kinda creepy but not like the bathtub.
The interior of the building still had equipment in some places, which made me all giddy and wishing we had been able to go in during the day. Several years ago I wouldn't have appreciated it as much as I do now. The textiles equipment was incredible to look at especially being on such a large scale like that. I wanted to take it home but I figured 1.) where I put it and 2.) I couldn't carry it on my own which meant 3.) I couldn't tell them I brought it with me.
Okay I'm sure you are saying "get on with it!" "get to the ghost picutres" well I didn't get much good at all but here...if you must.
You know I'll be completely honest...if you want to say oh that's dust Ive probably allready said it, so don't. If you want to say of that's cool then go for it. I am showing you some of the picutres we got unedited, whatever and you can take them for what they are at face value. It was a great time, and has given me the bug again...Here's to a summer of Graveyard romping, because it's the only place I can semi legally, here's to hopefully find opportunities to go places legally! Have fun
